Soroti, Uganda - Students at Kyambogo University's Soroti branch have initiated a strike today in response to the ongoing lecturers' dispute over unpaid salaries. The campus has been gripped by tension as the standoff continues, prompting local authorities to take action.
Students Take Matters Into Their Own Hands
Frustrated and concerned about their academic future, students decided to take matters into their own hands. Earlier this morning, they organized a peaceful demonstration within the university premises, demanding immediate resolution to the ongoing crisis.However, as tensions escalated and the demonstration grew in size, authorities took the decision to close the institution temporarily to ensure the safety of all students and staff members.
