KYAMBOGO UNIVERSITY EMBARKS ON STATE OF ART STUDENT ACCOMMODATION

Kyambogo University Management today hosted a pre-bid meeting with the pre-qualified bidder for the much-anticipated Students' Accommodation Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Project. The session marked a significant milestone following the completion of the evaluation process for the request for prequalification, which identified one qualified bidder. Subsequently, the bidder was issued with request for proposal (RFP) documents.

The Students' Accommodation Project aims to transform the campus living experience by developing modern, secure, and well-equipped housing facilities. With a focus on enhancing student welfare, the project will offer diverse living options designed to foster a supportive academic and social environment.  

Speaking at the meeting, project management representatives emphasized the institution's commitment to providing quality on-campus housing to meet growing student demand. "This initiative will create a conducive living environment, supporting both academic excellence and social development," they stated.

The pre-bid meeting provided an opportunity for detailed discussions on the project scope, timelines, and expectations. The artistic impressions presented during the meeting highlighted state-of-the-art designs for living spaces, recreational areas, and security features aimed at ensuring student comfort and safety.  

The Students' Accommodation PPP Project is expected to revolutionize campus housing, enhancing the university's capacity to support its growing student population .

Kyambogo University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Eli Katunguka, has addressed concerns raised by the Guild President, Mwebesa Reagan, regarding the recent tuition increment. In his response, Professor Katunguka emphasized that student leaders were actively involved in the decision-making process. Professor Katunguka clarified that both the Guild President and one other student were present . "The student leaders were aware of the impending increment and were part of the discussions," the Vice-Chancellor stated.
