Makerere University receives shs 5.5Bn grant for AI research
Makerere University's Artificial Intelligence lab has received 1.5 million USD which is about 5.5 billion shillings in grant funding, and additional support from Google’s philanthropic arm to further research on automated disease microscopy using artificial intelligence. This aims to make diagnosis of health conditions easier and potentially reduce screening time by over 80 percent.

By Campus Eagle  Kyambogo University, Uganda's second largest public university, has announced an ambitious plan to enhance its infrastructure through a Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement. As part of its Resource Mobilization and Investment Policy, the university is seeking private partners to develop two significant projects: modern student accommodation and a multi-purpose sports complex with a business center.
